Turid Helland

Turid Helland is professor emerita at the Institute of Biological and Medical Psychology at the University of Bergen, Norway. She conducts research on different approaches to dyslexia, as dyslexia and neurocognition, the connections between language development and dyslexia, and dyslexia and multilingualism. She has worked as a secondary school teacher, is a trained special education teacher and a speech and language therapist. She is a member of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters, The Norwegian Non-Fiction Writers and Translators Association, and is the former leader of The Bergen Logopedic Research Group. She has led several research projects, has published and reviewed a number of articles and book chapters nationally and internationally, and is the author of the Norwegian textbook โ€œSprรฅk og dysleksiโ€ (Language and dyslexia).
