Ly Thi Phuong Tran has joined Saigon University, Vietnam, as an associate professor in the Faculty of Linguistics and Literature within the Faculty of Social Sciences Teacher Education. She earned her PhD in Linguistics and Literature in 2012. Currently, she serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Linguistics and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Education. Dr. Tran’s research interests explore the relationship between language, culture, cognition, and social variables, including the issue of gender. Her work delves into the intricate connections between language and the human mind, describing and explaining the cultural transformations facilitated by language and exploring the impact of gender on language. Her long-term research direction involves developing a conceptual framework that combines cognitive linguistics, cultural linguistics, and feminist stylistics.
